Legal Counsel – Regulatory Legal (EMEIA Platforms)

About the role

Apple’s Products & Regulatory Legal Group is seeking a Legal Counsel to support the company’s engineering, business and government‑affairs teams on complex regulatory matters across the EMEIA region. The role involves interpreting and applying emerging platform regulations and data‑related legislation to Apple’s services and products.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Apple’s engineering, operations, government affairs and marketing teams on complex regulatory issues.
• Analyze the applicability of regulations such as the Digital Markets Act, Data Act and Artificial Intelligence Act to Apple services.
• Manage and coordinate internal workstreams within Apple Legal and interact with external regulators, including the European Commission.
• Collaborate with other legal groups, government‑affairs, and cross‑functional business and engineering teams.
• Provide risk‑allocation and mitigation advice to senior management, influencing business strategies and policies.

Required profile

• 5‑8+ years of experience in regulatory matters (competition law, digital markets/platform regulations, privacy or data laws) gained at a major law firm, in‑house legal department, or regulatory authority.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret privacy/data laws, competition laws and European regulations (a plus).
• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build relationships with executive management and cross‑functional partners.
• Strong analytical mindset, creative problem‑solving and a self‑starting attitude.

Required skills

• Regulatory analysis of European platform and data legislation.
• Experience with competition law, privacy/data law, and European regulatory frameworks.
