Young Professionals Programme – Legal Affairs (NATO)

About the role

The NATO Young Professionals Programme (YPP) offers a three‑year international career path for early‑career professionals. This legal affairs track will rotate you through three NATO bodies – the NATO Communications and Information Agency, the Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, and the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic – giving you hands‑on experience in a multinational security environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the integration of legal considerations into the planning and execution of NATO projects and programmes.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide practical guidance to senior staff.
• Draft, review and revise legal documents, memoranda and policy briefs.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with international law, NATO treaties and internal regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Brussels, Norfolk and London.

Required profile

• National of a NATO member state.
• Master’s degree in law or a related field.
• Minimum of one year professional work experience.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
