Compliance and Ethics Officer (Freelance, Brussels)

About the role

We are supporting a large global pharmaceutical company in building its Ethics & Business Integrity function. As a Compliance and Ethics Officer on a freelance basis, you will provide hands‑on operational support for third‑party due diligence, focusing on anti‑bribery and anti‑corruption risk management across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage multiple third‑party due diligence cases simultaneously across global markets.
• Collect, review, and validate due diligence questionnaires and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate, audit‑ready records within due diligence and workflow systems.
• Identify, track, and document ABAC‑related red flags and potential risks.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain clarifications, mitigation evidence, and approvals.
• Prepare clear case summaries and supporting documentation for compliance and ethics review.
• Support reporting activities, data quality checks, and audit readiness initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in third‑party due diligence, risk management, or compliance operations.
• Strong understanding of anti‑bribery and anti‑corruption (ABAC) principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Compliance, Risk Management or related field; Master’s degree advantageous.
• Professional certifications such as CCEP‑I or similar are highly desirable.
