Senior Software Developer - Core-2D (C++)

About the role

Octave BricsCAD is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join its Core‑2D team in Ghent. You will help shape the 2D drafting and modeling capabilities of the flagship BricsCAD platform, delivering robust and innovative engineering design solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance 2D workflows, block management, and UI components of BricsCAD.
• Design, implement and test efficient software solutions that meet project objectives and deadlines.
• Write thorough unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards.
• Collaborate with team leads, stakeholders and other developers to troubleshoot issues and align on goals.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies to ensure smooth planning and progress tracking.
• Continuously improve the codebase and adopt new technologies to enhance features and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in mathematics, especially geometry and linear algebra.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with C++ (C++11 or newer).
• Full professional fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Ability to work openly and communicate clearly within a team.
