Senior Functional Analyst – Payments Transformation

About the role

Capco, a global technology and business consultancy focused on financial services and energy, is recruiting a Senior Functional Analyst for a major client in the financial services sector. The role sits in a strategic payments transformation program, where emerging technologies such as DLT and API-based architectures are reshaping international payments. You will turn business needs into functional and technical solutions in an Agile environment, working with stakeholders, architects, developers, testers and product owners.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, challenge and refine business requirements, and turn them into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Evaluate solution alternatives, assess impacts, costs, benefits and feasibility, and align with enterprise architecture, security and technology standards.
• Design end-to-end functional solutions, document application impacts and support API design and integration.
• Work in cross-functional Agile squads, contributing to backlog refinement, user stories and release preparation, and supporting testing and defect analysis.
• Support operational teams after deployment, analyse incidents and maintain solution documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Functional Analyst, including complex IT transformation projects and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in banking, payments, financial services or transaction processing; knowledge of payment processes and products is highly desirable.
• Professional French and English; Dutch is a plus.

Required skills

• Functional analysis methodologies and translating requirements into specifications.
• API design and documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI).
• Enterprise application landscapes and system integrations.
