Student Agency and Executive Functioning Coach

About the role

The Student Agency and Executive Functioning Coach supports high‑school students in developing the habits, strategies, and independence needed for academic success. Working within the International School of Brussels, the coach collaborates with teachers, counselors, and families to provide tailored guidance while maintaining high expectations for personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual coaching sessions focused on organization, planning, time‑management, task initiation, working memory, and study skills.
• Help students create practical systems such as daily/weekly schedules, long‑term project plans, and assessment study plans.
• Maintain confidential records of meetings, interventions, progress, and next steps.
• Conduct regular follow‑up meetings, review progress, and document outcomes for students needing additional support.
• Assist students with major academic milestones, including Extended Essays, Internal Assessments, CAS requirements, and examination preparation.
• Collaborate with counselors, learning‑support staff, and teachers to identify and support students, act as liaison when communication issues arise, and contribute to intervention planning.
• Design and facilitate workshops on effective study strategies, time‑management, and overcoming procrastination.

Required profile

• Experience providing executive‑functioning or academic coaching to secondary‑school students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, counselors, and families while respecting confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills to track student progress and manage intervention records.
