About the role

St. John's International School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Primary School Homeroom Teacher to join its vibrant international learning community. The role involves creating a positive, inclusive classroom where academic excellence, personal growth and social‑emotional development are fostered.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated lessons aligned with the school curriculum and philosophy, promoting high student achievement.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment that supports academic, social, emotional and personal development.
• Assess and document student progress using formative and summative strategies, providing timely feedback.
• Design learning experiences that develop critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and independent learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, report progress and participate in school events.
• Collaborate with grade‑level colleagues, specialist teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
• Contribute to curriculum development, professional learning initiatives and extracurricular activities.
• Uphold safeguarding, well‑being and child protection policies while promoting the school’s international‑minded values.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field and a recognized teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching primary/elementary students, preferably in an international school setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and evidence‑based teaching practices.
• Ability to create an inclusive, student‑centered classroom that meets diverse learning needs.
• Experience with inquiry‑based learning; IB PYP experience highly desirable.
• Excellent classroom management, communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, student well‑being and a positive learning culture.
• Collaborative, adaptable, culturally aware professional with fluency in English.
