Senior Windows System Administrator – 7‑Month Freelance in Brussels

About the role

Our client, a public‑sector agency for Agriculture and Fisheries, is looking for a Senior Windows System Administrator to support a 7‑month freelance mission in Brussels. You will be at the core of the organization’s digital transformation, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of critical Windows infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve 2nd and 3rd line incidents on Windows platforms.
• Execute small‑scale implementation requests for core IT services.
• Deploy and manage line‑of‑business releases on application servers.
• Maintain and optimise Citrix XenDesktop servers and Remote Desktop Session Hosts.
• Oversee general maintenance and monitoring of Windows Server infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the Windows Server team to deliver secure, scalable environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, automation, and service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies.
• Minimum 5 years experience with Windows Server 2016 or newer.
• Minimum 5 years experience with Windows infrastructure services (DHCP, DNS, PXE) and Windows firewalling.
• Minimum 2 years experience with Microsoft 365 technologies (Exchange Online, Teams, Authentication).
• Solid knowledge of ITIL processes, especially change management.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Server 2022 or higher.
