Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Ravago is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build its modern data platform, which consolidates multiple ERP systems, business units and data sources into a single trusted source of truth. You will design, develop and optimise the platform so that it is reliable, scalable and ready for reporting, analytics and AI-driven use cases, working closely with Data Architects, Analytics Engineers, BI Developers and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data solutions and translate architectural guidelines into technical designs.
• Build dimensional data models following the Kimball methodology and harmonise data from multiple sources and ERPs into a conformed data layer.
• Develop high-performance data transformations with dbt and SQL, and maintain semantic layers for BI, AI agents and Snowflake Cortex use cases.
• Optimise Snowflake environments for performance, scalability and cost.
• Implement security standards such as role-based access control, row-level security and data masking.
• Set up automated data quality controls and CI/CD processes.
• Explore emerging technologies and AI solutions, document solutions, mentor colleagues and share knowledge.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer in complex enterprise-scale environments, with a track record of production-ready solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to turn business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in structured, backlog-driven development environments.
• Nice to have: SAP S/4HANA, CDS Views or log-based replication, Python, Microsoft Fabric, OneLake and Power BI, Apache Iceberg, Fivetran or HVR, Snowflake Cortex Analyst, and legacy platforms such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM InfoSphere or DB2.
