Senior Climate & Environment Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Climate & Environment Expert to join a pool of specialists that will support the “Cooperation Facility to Support the Implementation and Programming of EU Action and Team Europe Initiatives in Lesotho”. The expert will be mobilised on a short‑term, on‑demand basis throughout the 48‑month project, starting January 2027, and will work under specific Terms of Reference approved by the EU Delegation to Lesotho.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic expertise on climate resilience, biodiversity and environmental sustainability for EU‑funded interventions.
• Conduct climate risk assessments and detailed environmental analyses to inform project design and implementation.
• Support the mainstreaming of climate considerations across all EU actions and Team Europe initiatives.
• Monitor and report on the environmental performance of projects, ensuring compliance with EU standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in climate adaptation, environmental management and biodiversity.
• Proven experience in development cooperation projects, preferably with EU funding.
• Ability to work on short‑term, on‑demand assignments and adapt quickly to project needs.
