Product Development Engineer

About the role

Sulzer, a global leader in pump manufacturing, is seeking a Product Development Engineer for its Technology Center in Thimister‑Clermont, Belgium. The role focuses on developing and standardising pump products for water, oil & gas, power and chemical applications. You will collaborate with global teams to deliver innovative design solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product development projects and achieve defined objectives.
• Create design studies, master assemblies and detailed drawings, including related calculations.
• Coordinate detailed design drawing activities across global sites.
• Standardise key design features across the product range.
• Produce and maintain product documentation such as catalogues, performance curves, manuals and tools.
• Develop and apply tools and methods to control designs using current technologies.
• Communicate effectively with manufacturing units and product management worldwide to ensure collaborative development.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree with at least 4 years of industry experience.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Strong collaboration skills in a multicultural, global environment.
• Customer‑focused mindset with ability to translate technical needs into solutions.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools, specifically NX and SolidWorks.
• Ability to perform design calculations and create detailed engineering drawings.
