Mechanical Design Engineer II

About the role

Axon is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to join its Brussels team. In this role you will lead the development of next‑generation life‑saving technology, taking concepts through to production while collaborating with cross‑functional teams across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Drive innovative product development from concept to manufacturing.
• Lead ideation of new product architectures for subsystem and system‑level designs.
• Build and evaluate high‑fidelity proof‑of‑concept prototypes.
• Perform detailed mechanical analysis, including FEA, tolerance analysis, and testing.
• Design plastic injection‑molded, stamped metal, die‑cast, and machined components.
• Collaborate regularly with domestic and international stakeholders.
• Work autonomously and within fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of product design experience in high‑end consumer electronic products.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PTC Creo or comparable 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molding, stamped metal, die‑casting, and machining processes.
• Familiarity with adhesives, bonded joint design, and dust/water ingress protection.
• Experience designing thermal management solutions for electronic heat dissipation.
• Experience with PCB/PCBA, flex circuits, and other electromechanical integrations.
• Ability to conduct FEA, tolerance analysis, and prototype testing.
