Head of Projects

About the role

Thales Belgium is looking for a dynamic Head of Projects to lead its Project Management team at the Tubize site. You will be responsible for embedding best‑practice project governance across a diverse portfolio of defence, aerospace and digital security programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain solid project governance, including commitment control, launch and regular project reviews to ensure visibility of cost, schedule and risk.
• Take functional accountability for successful delivery of projects to the Country Business Unit and Operations Management.
• Drive strategic capability planning for program management, focusing on leadership development and future resource needs.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and talent development for the project management community.
• Create networks and frameworks that foster continuous improvement, learning and capability advancement.
• Evaluate delivery strategies, lead risk assessment and mitigation while maximising opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Group processes, policies and standards, and continuously improve local processes.

Required profile

• Civil or industrial engineering degree, Business School Master, MBA or equivalent experience.
• Trilingual fluency in French, Dutch and English.
• Proven track record leading significant, high‑tech programmes in complex environments, including contract and change management with customers and subcontractors.
