About the role

The European Climate Foundation (ECF) is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. This senior executive will guide the organisation through a pivotal period for climate action, shaping strategy and amplifying impact across Europe and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Define, communicate and execute ECF’s vision and strategic plan.
• Represent ECF externally, building relationships with governments, funders, civil society and business leaders.
• Integrate and align diverse stakeholders to drive collective climate impact at scale.
• Lead, inspire and develop a diverse, international team, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture.
• Navigate complex political and economic environments to advance a just, competitive net‑zero transition.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in mission‑driven, international organisations.
• Strong strategic capability and track record of delivering organisational impact.
• Demonstrated ability to operate at the highest levels across government, philanthropy and the private sector.
• Credibility and sound judgement to engage diverse stakeholder groups.
