Chapter Lead Feature Engineer II - Enterprise Content & Automation

About the role

ING is hiring a Chapter Lead Feature Engineer (Level II) for Enterprise Content & Automation Belgium (EC&A BE), based in Brussels. You will lead a multidisciplinary chapter of roughly 10 FTE consisting of Feature Consultants, IT Integrators and Business Analysts, acting as a centre of expertise that translates business needs into scalable, compliant and future-proof solutions. The chapter covers products such as Signing, Global Content, Interaction, Active Dossier Management, Workflow Management, Storage and Archiving.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the chapter, fostering engagement, performance management, recruitment and succession planning.
• Build best practices in requirements engineering, solution design, system integration and architecture, and promote standardisation, re-use and continuous improvement, including AI-enabled practices.
• Act as owner of the Feature Engineer craft, enable consistent delivery across products and squads, and facilitate collaboration with Product Leads, Engineering Leads, Architects, Risk and Finance.
• Support investment priorities, Dynamic Planning, budgeting and forecasting, and manage risks, dependencies, technical debt and compliance.
• Contribute to migrations, modernisation and simplification initiatives, and support the move toward a product-oriented operating model.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering or delivery teams, with strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Ability to influence across organisational boundaries and to drive change and transformation.
• Experience in complex enterprise environments and bridging business and technology perspectives.
• Strong understanding of technology financial management, budgeting, forecasting and investment governance, and of risk, audit remediation and compliance processes.

Required skills

• Software engineering and product delivery practices, including agile product development and DevOps.
• Requirements engineering, IT integration, business analysis and solution design.
• Bonus: knowledge of the EC&A domain (content management, workflow, signing, archiving, automation) and practical experience with AI-enabled engineering or automation.
