Business Development Manager – Competition & Trade (Brussels)

About the role

The Business Development Manager will support a leading international law firm’s Competition, Regulatory & International Trade practice across Brussels and the wider EMEA region. Working closely with partners and senior stakeholders, you will drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and raise the practice’s profile in key sectors such as Technology, AI, Life Sciences, Energy, Consumer, Defence and Financial Services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans for the practice.
• Lead pitches, proposals and panel tenders to win new work.
• Identify cross‑selling and client growth opportunities across offices and practice areas.
• Manage legal directory and award submissions.
• Deliver thought‑leadership pieces, marketing campaigns and profile‑raising initiatives.
• Organise client events, webinars and conference programmes.
• Support key client relationship management and revenue‑growth activities.

Required profile

• Significant business development experience within legal, professional or consulting services.
• Proven track record in pitches, client development and strategic marketing.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable influencing senior professionals in a matrix environment.
