Legal Counsel

About the role

Materialise is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its legal team at the headquarters in Leuven. The role blends corporate governance, securities compliance and commercial contract work across the company’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead corporate matters, including dual‑listing reporting (20‑F, EU annual reporting, SEC/MAR compliance) and oversee corporate compliance frameworks such as SOX and internal controls.
• Support the legal standing of the Materialise group worldwide and participate in larger corporate and M&A activities as they arise.
• Act as a Legal Business Partner for the Software, Manufacturing and Medical divisions, drafting, advising, negotiating and closing commercial transactions with internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Provide legal guidance on a broad range of assignments in multiple jurisdictions and languages.

Required profile

• Strong generalist with the ability to balance legal risk against business opportunity and independently prioritize work.
• Commercial and legal acumen with a collaborative mindset, fitting into a small team of four legal professionals.

Required skills

• Master’s degree in Law with a solid academic record.
• Knowledge of civil and common law systems, especially Belgian, U.S. and international contexts.
• At least 5 years post‑qualification experience in an international company or law firm.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
