Associate Competition Law Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking an Associate to join our Brussels Competition team within a leading international law firm. You will work on high‑profile cross‑border matters, advising clients on investigations, behavioural competition issues, state aid, foreign direct investment and the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on investigations, behavioural competition matters and regulatory strategy.
• Represent clients before the European Commission and national competition authorities.
• Handle State aid, FDI and EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation matters.
• Collaborate with international teams on cross‑border competition files.
• Contribute to business development and team growth initiatives.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of competition law experience at a leading firm.
• Qualified lawyer in an EU jurisdiction.
• Strong exposure to investigations and behavioural matters (merger control not primary).
• Fluent English; Dutch is an asset.
• Outgoing personality with genuine interest in business development.
