VHR Program Manager
AMOS · Liège
Job description
About the role
AMOS, a Liège-based developer of ultra-high opto-mechanical systems for space and professional astronomy, is looking for a VHR Program Manager. The VHR product line consists of a modular set of recurring building blocks configured for each mission, and the role leads the VHR payload team, balancing customer requests with what the product line can absorb.
Key responsibilities
- Own the VHR product line: roadmap, configurations, performance range, cost and lead-time targets.
- Drive the modular approach: define building blocks, options and limits of recurrence.
- Arbitrate between customer requests and the standard product, deciding what is tailored and what stays recurrent.
- Coordinate the VHR payload team: priorities, workload, staffing and competence development.
- Manage the program: schedule, budget, risks, margins and milestones.
- Drive industrialization: make-or-buy decisions, supply chain, recurring cost reduction and production ramp-up.
- Prepare proposals with product configuration, cost, lead time and technical and contractual commitments.
- Manage VHR projects from kick-off to delivery, and monitor delivered products for image quality and non-conformances.
- Feed back lessons learned to the product line and report the status of the VHR line to management.
Required profile
- Master's or PhD in Engineering or Physics.
- At least 10 years in space or optical instrument programs.
- Solid technical background in optical instruments, including reading and challenging performance budgets.
- Proven product management experience: roadmap, configuration management, recurring cost and lead time.
- Experience managing schedule, budget and risks on multi-million-euro programmes.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and making decisions with incomplete data.
- Fluent English; French is an asset.
Required skills
- Familiarity with ECSS standards and space project review logic.
- Product management and project management.
- Rigorous, reliable, good writing skills, natural leadership and teamwork.
What we offer
- Permanent position.
- A career path with direct impact on the company's growth and a flat hierarchy.
- Flexible ways of working and a salary package consistent with experience.
