Trade Assistant – Belgium

About the role

We are looking for a Trade Assistant to support Unilever Food Solutions' trade partners in Belgium. Based in Brussels, you will work within the Trade team to develop regional food‑service distributors in West‑Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia, contributing to our growth ambition.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic collaborations with regional distributors and create joint customer plans that outpace market growth.
• Design and implement new routes to market, including CRM, e‑commerce and other digital initiatives.
• Execute customer business plans in partnership with Channel Marketing Trade to achieve turnover targets.
• Negotiate and close deals while managing trade discounts and budgets efficiently.
• Analyse customer performance, including selling‑in vs selling‑out, digital and category results.
• Secure and retain full‑range listings, promotional listings and price increases for all trade customers.
• Maintain contact at all levels, motivate and train distributor sales teams to actively resell UFS products, focusing on the top‑10 customers.
• Collaborate with Operator Sales, Chains and Digital teams to align strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales or trade within the food‑service sector.
• Strong understanding of the HoReCa, butcher/traiteur and mass‑catering segments.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic plans with distributors.
• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
• Passion for food and willingness to drive digital transformation.
