Solutions Architect – Hybrid (Ghent, Belgium)

About the role

The Solutions Architect will lead the design of technical solutions and overall architecture for IT systems, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise Architecture. Working in a hybrid setting in Ghent, the role collaborates closely with business analysts, systems analysts and engineers to translate business needs into robust, scalable designs.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and translate business, information and technical requirements into a comprehensive architectural blueprint.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture, application and infrastructure teams to produce high‑level conceptual designs.
• Design technical architectures that integrate across applications, systems and platforms.
• Propose updates to processes, policies and standards in line with architectural principles.
• Research emerging technologies and assess their applicability to business challenges.
• Develop custom integration solutions, major enhancements, and reusable programming architectures.
• Act as an internal consultant, mentor and change agent across multiple disciplines.
• Monitor technology, industry and market trends to gauge impact on the enterprise.
• Contribute to buy‑or‑build decisions in collaboration with senior architects.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of modern programming languages and object‑oriented design.
• Proven experience applying current application development methodologies.
• Advanced to expert‑level understanding of software architecture, application design, systems engineering and integration.
• Ability to research and stay current with emerging technologies.
