Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Qargo is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join its growing team in Ghent. You will work on building reliable, scalable cloud systems and automating operations to keep the transport‑management platform performant in production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain tooling that improves platform reliability, scalability and performance.
• Automate software delivery pipelines and enhance developer experience.
• Develop internal services to reduce manual operational work.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting to improve observability.
• Optimize database performance for PostgreSQL and Firestore.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design reliable, scalable architectures.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents and deliver long‑term fixes.
• Continuously evolve infrastructure as code and automation practices.

Required profile

• Experience as a software engineer with a strong interest in infrastructure, scalability and reliability.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and collaborate across engineering teams.
