Sessional Instructor – Social & Political Issues in Métis Education

About the role

The Gabriel Dumont College seeks a qualified sessional instructor to teach the course "Social & Political Issues in Métis Education" (ED 958) for the Indigenous Education Doctorate program. The position is fully online and runs from September 1 to December 22, 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver course instruction that explores historical and contemporary Métis social and political challenges in education.
• Manage virtual classroom activities to create an optimal learning environment.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and maintain academic records.
• Apply culturally responsive teaching approaches that respect Métis culture, language, and identity.

Required profile

• Education Doctorate or Ph.D. in Education relevant to the course content.
• Experience with the Saskatchewan curriculum and Indigenous education systems.
• Familiarity with Faculty of Education programs and current issues affecting Métis education.
• Approval by the University of Regina; university teaching experience is an asset.
