Senior Shopify Backend Developer

About the role

SQLI is seeking a Senior Shopify Backend Developer to own the technical backbone of e‑commerce projects. Based in our Diegem office, you will collaborate with sales, delivery, finance and operations teams to deliver high‑impact, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement custom Shopify apps and backend services.
• Develop integrations with ERP, PIM and POS systems.
• Optimize performance, architecture and scalability of headless commerce solutions.
• Work closely with architects, product owners, business analysts and frontend teams.
• Maintain and extend Shopify Functions, Checkout extensibility and event‑driven webhooks.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Proven expertise with Shopify APIs, app development and headless architectures.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ownership from concept to release.
• Ability to work within complex integration landscapes without adding unnecessary complexity.
