Director, Switch Technology Coordination – Europe

About the role

The Director, Switch Technology Coordination for Europe leads the execution of Mastercard’s technology modernization strategy across the region, ensuring compliance with sovereignty requirements and delivering operational excellence. The role bridges Technology, Network Products, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial teams to drive deployment, stability and a clear value narrative for the Transaction Stream platform.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Mastercard Technologies (MCT) to deploy and stabilize the Transaction Stream across Europe, maintaining deep knowledge of its architecture, operations and resiliency.
• Resolve regional deployment issues by aligning technology, product and market teams, ensuring smooth rollout and ongoing stability.
• Partner with Network Products to develop, prioritize and roll out Transaction Stream capabilities that meet European customer, regulatory and cost requirements.
• Create fact‑based value narratives and decision‑ready analyses that translate technical capabilities into business and regulatory outcomes.
• Work with Switch Sales and market‑facing teams to support go‑to‑market activities, pilots and phased rollouts of new capabilities.
• Serve as the regional liaison for Regulatory, Public Policy and Separation Compliance, translating regulator expectations into clear deployment and operational requirements.
• Help define and embed a scalable operating model for the Switch Technology Coordination function in Europe, promoting continuity, delivery discipline and effective cross‑functional collaboration.

Required profile

• Significant experience in payments or complex technology platforms, preferably with network and regulated‑environment exposure.
• Proven ability to operate between technology and product functions, translating technical complexity into business and regulatory outcomes.
• Strong influence and coordination skills in ambiguous, matrixed, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and fact‑based decision‑making capabilities.
• Outstanding communication skills, able to craft clear senior‑stakeholder narratives and visual materials.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management and collaboration across functions, geographies and seniority levels.
• Experience engaging regulators or handling sovereignty‑related initiatives and converting requirements into delivery actions.
• Track record of supporting or coordinating large‑scale platform deployments and ensuring operational readiness.
