Senior Project Manager – Insurance (Workers Accidents) – Freelance

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager on a freelance basis to lead a strategic transformation of a Workers’ Accidents insurance portfolio in Belgium. The role will focus on replacing a legacy mainframe system with a new IT solution, guiding the programme from analysis through to implementation, with a start date in September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end delivery of the transformation programme, including gap analysis, requirements definition and implementation.
• Develop business cases and manage a budget of €1‑5 million, ensuring financial control and reporting.
• Lead a cross‑functional team of approximately 20 members from business and IT.
• Coordinate and align stakeholders up to board level, delivering clear presentations and status reports.
• Consolidate inputs from multiple functions into a unified roadmap and oversee change‑management activities for the 2027 rollout.

Required profile

• Extensive project‑management experience in the insurance sector, preferably Property & Casualty or Workers’ Accidents.
• Proven track record of core system transformation or legacy replacement projects.
• Strong business orientation with excellent stakeholder and executive communication skills.
• Fluent French; experience in the Belgian market is a plus.
