Senior Graphic Designer

About the role

archipelago, an international architecture office, is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to strengthen its visual storytelling across large‑scale projects. You will work closely with architects, engineers and researchers to create compelling graphics, publications and competition dossiers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee visual concepts for competition entries, reports and external communication.
• Produce diagrams, layouts and long‑form documents such as books, catalogues and competition dossiers.
• Analyse existing graphical output and define shared visual guidelines.
• Monitor market trends, emerging tools and AI‑driven workflows, and curate internal reference databases.
• Collaborate with internal teams as a freelance partner while contributing to internal knowledge‑sharing materials.

Required profile

• Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably in architecture, design or cultural institutions.
• Strong sense of typography, layout, composition and visual hierarchy.
• Excellent English communication; Dutch or French is a plus.
