About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to own and evolve our cloud‑based backend platform. You will work closely with the CTO and founders, shaping architecture, product direction, and engineering standards in a fast‑growing B2B PropTech SaaS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power the platform.
• Own the AWS cloud architecture, including Lambda, SQS, EC2, S3 and the observability stack.
• Develop robust APIs and distributed services for short‑stay operators and hotels.
• Collaborate with product, frontend and mobile teams on roadmap and technical decisions.
• Define and improve engineering standards, tooling, and best practices.
• Ensure reliability, performance and scalability of core systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production backend engineering experience.
• Strong experience with AWS (or Azure) and cloud‑native architectures.
• Proven ability to design and maintain large‑scale, distributed systems.
• Background in B2B SaaS or comparable fast‑moving environments.
• Startup mindset with high ownership, autonomy and fast iteration cycles.
• Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.
• Based in Belgium and able to work on‑site in Ghent at least three days per week.
