Quality Specialist – Launch Team

About the role

Join Ball’s Launch Team as a Quality Specialist and drive the start‑up performance of new builds, new lines and line conversions. You will ensure that products meet the highest quality, safety and environmental standards from the first production run through to stable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve efficiency and spoilage targets for all new‑build and conversion projects, following approved start‑up curves.
• Lead quality performance during start‑up, delivering compliant, specification‑conforming product.
• Monitor processes, materials and outputs to guarantee food‑safety compliance and take immediate corrective action on deviations.
• Oversee inspections and audits, ensuring local quality teams execute process checks, material inspections and finished‑product audits.
• Maintain, calibrate and validate gauges, inspection devices and measurement equipment.
• Track quality trends, identify early variation signals and initiate corrective or preventive actions.
• Support the Plant Quality Manager with ISO, HACCP and other regulatory or customer‑driven food‑safety systems.
• Execute SOPs, SPC and other quality‑management tools to ensure repeatable processes.
• Train production and quality staff on process understanding, defect prevention and food‑safety practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a quality role within manufacturing, preferably on start‑up or line‑conversion projects.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve efficiency, spoilage and quality targets.
• Strong understanding of environmental and food‑safety regulations.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• ISO standards implementation (e.g., ISO 9001).
• HACCP knowledge and application.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
• Calibration and validation of measurement equipment.
• Quality trend analysis and corrective‑preventive action (CAPA) management.
• Conducting inspections, audits and product testing.
