Field Service Engineer – Customer Engineer

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) you will act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading Applied Materials equipment. You will use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to resolve technical issues across electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality repairs and preventive/corrective maintenance on semiconductor equipment.
• Respond to fab issues, communicate with engineers worldwide and join escalation calls.
• Ensure correct procedures and schematics are available before work.
• Carry out retrofits and assist with process‑related problems.
• Maintain full customer satisfaction and strong relationships.
• Follow all safety procedures and promote safety as a core value.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical or electronic systems; semiconductor industry background is a plus.
• Ability to lead without authority, influence stakeholders and build excellent internal and external relationships.
• Out‑of‑the‑box thinking and problem‑solving methodology knowledge.
• 2–4 years of field service or technical support experience.
