Project Engineer (Level 1) – Energy Infrastructure

About the role

Join a leading Belgian transmission system operator and contribute to the design, implementation and delivery of sustainable electricity infrastructure. As a Project Engineer (Level 1) you will act as the technical bridge between project leaders and the engineering office, ensuring projects are executed on time, within scope and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the full project lifecycle, from conceptual feasibility studies to project close‑out.
• Define technical specifications for tenders and manage the outsourcing of detailed studies.
• Communicate technical requirements to designers during the detailed design phase to guarantee scope compliance.
• Support the project leader in solving specific technical challenges during implementation.
• Contribute to the development of processes for the start‑up phase of the new organisation.
• Identify and report the impact of new concepts on project work to the team lead.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar project engineering role.
• Knowledge of electricity grids, substations, lines and protection automation & control (PAC) is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Dutch, French and English.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented attitude.
• Analytical ability to solve complex technical problems.
