Part‑Time Finance Manager (Scale‑up)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Finance Manager to join Comate, a high‑tech scale‑up developing medical and industrial hardware. Working closely with the CEO and management team, you will provide financial leadership and operational rigor across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end accounting, financial reporting and core financial processes in collaboration with the internal team and external accountant.
• Prepare, monitor and update budgets, rolling forecasts and multi‑year financial plans.
• Analyse revenue, margins, cash flow and project profitability and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Manage liquidity, working capital and financing structures to ensure financial stability.
• Optimise project‑driven financial processes such as time registration, cost tracking, invoicing and margin reporting.
• Coordinate tax and VAT filings and ensure compliance with deadlines and regulations.
• Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., Belgian GAAP) and reporting obligations.
• Drive automation and standardisation of recurring financial tasks and document procedures.
• Participate in the management team as a data‑driven business partner.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of finance experience, including at least 6 years in a management role with responsibility for reporting, budgeting and cash‑flow management.
• Proven experience leading a small finance team.
• Strategic mindset with ability to translate big‑picture goals into concrete financial actions.
• Experience working in a project‑driven environment.
