Director, Commercial Finance

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Director of Commercial Finance to lead our Commercial Operations team in Leuven. The role combines strategic financial leadership with people management to support our fast‑growing clinical research business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee hiring, training, evaluation and retention of Commercial Operations staff, directly managing a team.
• Develop fee estimates for RFPs, budget revisions and contract amendments, providing strategic financial input to client RFIs.
• Maintain a staff turnover rate below 7% and act as the primary relationship manager for the Sponsor.
• Review cost, operational and forecast analyses to track progress against goals.
• Assess departmental capacity, allocate workload efficiently and meet timeline commitments.
• Serve as escalation point for Sponsor and internal teams and participate in client steering committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of contract management and pricing experience in the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry.
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes with excellent analytical and communication abilities.
• Basic knowledge of drug‑development services and medical terminology.
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
