Operations Buyer – Procurement for Automotive Plant

About the role

We are looking for an Operations Buyer to join our Operations Procurement team supporting the automotive business at our Wevelgem plant. You will be responsible for securing the right parts and services through smart agreements with a diverse supplier base, directly influencing plant performance and product comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Implement regional indirect procurement contracts and manage all indirect purchases not covered by regional agreements.
• Oversee commercial activities, negotiate and implement changes related to engineering modifications after Phase 5 sign‑off.
• Support Category Management in executing commodity strategies and productivity initiatives.
• Manage supplier performance with the Commodity Manager, focusing on quality, cost and delivery.
• Provide procurement input for the plant’s Supplier Scorecard and act as the first escalation point for external supplier issues.
• Maintain accurate serial pricing in the plant ERP system and monitor price updates throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Technical or business degree with a strong technical understanding, or equivalent education.
• 1‑3 years of international procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
• Customer‑focused mindset, strong deadline adherence, and solution‑oriented communication.
• Basic knowledge of commercial contract law, manufacturing processes and ability to analyse CBDs.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001; IATF 16949; VDA 6.3 is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Dutch; additional languages are an asset.
