About the role
Granular is a fast‑growing climate‑tech startup building a SaaS platform that helps electricity markets match green generation with consumption on an hourly basis. As a Mid‑Level Backend Software Engineer you will contribute to the core optimisation engine and enable scalable, reliable services for our European and US customers.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and release new backend functionality for the Granular Energy Platform.
- Implement and maintain REST APIs that expose optimisation and risk‑management capabilities.
- Collaborate with product, data and operations teams to define and shape new features.
- Improve development processes, code quality and team culture.
Required profile
- 3‑6 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong command of a high‑level language (Python preferred, Java or C# acceptable).
- Comfortable working in a fast‑moving startup or remote environment.
- Fluent English with solid communication and organisational skills.

- Kubernetes on Azure
- Terraform for infrastructure as code
- REST API development
- Message queues and blob storage
