Medior Software Engineer

About the role
As a Medior Software Engineer at TomTom you will help evolve the core maps delivery platform and contribute to the new Orbis OGP product. You will work in a collaborative, agile environment focused on delivering high‑quality mapping and location technology for the automotive and mobility sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Java and Scala services that process large volumes of map data.
- Implement, test and document software following DevOps practices, including continuous deployment with Docker, Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with product managers to translate high‑level requirements into actionable work packages.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices such as TDD, SOLID principles and design patterns.
- Monitor and optimise system performance using tools like Kibana and Grafana.
Required profile
- Strong experience writing clean, maintainable code in Java and Scala.
- Comfortable working in agile, self‑organising teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to ask questions and challenge assumptions.
