Managing Editor, Europe

About the role

The Managing Editor, Europe will lead MLex’s editorial operations across Europe and the UK, overseeing teams in London and Brussels. This senior position ensures that all published content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance for our subscribers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and organisational management for a team of ~30 reporters and editors.
• Maintain editorial standards for content quality, timeliness, style, and value.
• Oversee newsroom productivity, budgets, recruitment, and HR processes.
• Act as MLex’s representative for legal and contractual matters in Belgium.
• Develop journalists through training, mentoring, and performance management.
• Collaborate with the Editor‑in‑Chief and global editorial leadership to align regional objectives with worldwide goals.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in news journalism and editorial management within the EU and UK jurisdictions.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and people‑development skills.
• Excellent news judgement and deep regional market knowledge.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, recruitment, and HR processes.
