EU Digital Policy Analyst

About the role

POLITICO is looking for an EU policy analyst to join its Research and Analysis Division in Brussels. The analyst monitors, analyses and delivers strategic insights on EU legislation and initiatives across the Digital Policy portfolio, with a high degree of autonomy and intellectual ownership of outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Independently track and interpret legislative developments, regulatory reforms and strategic initiatives across EU digital policy, anticipating key procedural milestones
• Produce independently authored Pro Analysis reports and contribute substantively to broader Research & Analysis projects, assessing policy trade-offs and implications
• Translate qualitative developments into structured, comparative or visual formats, collaborating with data researchers and directing policy framing
• Represent Research & Analysis externally as a subject-matter expert in presentations, briefings and discussions, including workshops and roundtables

Required profile

• Master's degree in political science, EU studies, journalism, international relations, economics, law, technology policy or a related field
• 3-4 years of experience in EU policy analysis, political research, regulatory intelligence or similar, with exposure to EU digital and technology policy files
• Ability to produce rigorous, insight-driven outputs requiring little editorial revision
• In-depth knowledge of EU institutional procedures and legislative processes, with experience in independent legislative monitoring
• Excellent written and verbal English; French or another EU language highly desirable

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and, where relevant, R or Python
• Advanced use of MS Office and digital research and intelligence-gathering platforms
• Strong quantitative literacy with structured datasets
