About the role
Mastercard is seeking an experienced Manager to lead its Government Affairs and Policy efforts across the European Union. Based in Brussels, you will support the Vice President of Government Affairs EU and drive advocacy on a range of strategic topics that affect the payments ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute policy, legislative, and regulatory strategies for priority areas such as open banking, digital fairness, tokenisation, sustainable tourism, and corporate tax.
- Engage directly with EU institutions, member‑state legislators, regulators, and opinion leaders to influence outcomes that benefit Mastercard.
- Collaborate with country GAP managers to align advocacy efforts across the region.
- Provide internal coordination, budgeting, and reporting on government‑affairs priorities.
Required profile
- Proven track record as a senior government‑relations executive with experience influencing policy in a dynamic corporate environment.
- Strong analytical and intellectual curiosity about technology and payments.
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional EU languages are a plus.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across functions and geographies.
