Junior Associate – Dispute Resolution (French-speaking)

About the role

ALTIUS is seeking a French‑speaking Junior Associate to join its Dispute Resolution Team in Brussels. You will work on complex litigation and arbitration matters for Belgian and international clients, contributing to high‑profile cases in EU courts and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior lawyers in preparing pleadings, motions, and arbitration submissions.
• Conduct legal research on Belgian, EU, and international dispute‑resolution law.
• Participate in client meetings, hearings, and arbitration hearings.
• Draft memoranda, opinions, and case updates for internal and client use.
• Support the team in managing case files and deadlines.

Required profile

• Qualified Belgian lawyer with approximately two years of experience in dispute resolution.
• Fluent French; English and Dutch suitable for daily business use.
• Strong written communication and a pragmatic, hands‑on approach.
• Open, enthusiastic team player with an international orientation.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit through extracurricular activities or leadership roles.

Required skills

• Excellent legal writing in French and English.
• Proficiency in Dutch for business communication.
• Ability to analyse complex legal issues and propose practical solutions.
