Internal Audit Manager, Fincrime

About the role

Wise is looking for an Internal Audit Manager (FinCrime) to join its growing EU Internal Audit team in Brussels. You will lead and execute financial‑crime internal audits, supervise audit activities, and provide recommendations to strengthen governance, risk management and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assign and supervise operational audit activities for the FinCrime portfolio.
• Conduct audit testing personally and oversee testing performed by team members.
• Design and execute issue‑validation testing of implemented control improvements.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and measure effectiveness of improvements.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the development of a self‑sufficient internal audit function.

Required profile

• Proven experience in risk, control or assurance roles, preferably with technology‑enabled assurance.
• Ability to design and execute comprehensive, risk‑based test plans and produce clear, well‑written audit reports.
• Strong attention to detail with the capacity to summarise key messages for different audiences.
• Good understanding of the regulatory environment, including EU Money Laundering Directives, FATF and Wolfsberg Guidance.
