HR Specialist – Employee Lifecycle & Talent Management

About the role

DHL Express is seeking an HR Specialist to join its European Head Office in Diegem, Belgium. You will support the local HR team by delivering day‑to‑day HR services that attract, develop, motivate and retain talent, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist HR Business Partners and managers with the implementation of HR policies and processes.
• Coordinate talent management activities, recruiting, onboarding, internal mobility, performance management, compensation & benefits, time & attendance, and wellbeing initiatives.
• Prepare job adverts, conduct background checks, manage onboarding and internal promotions.
• Organise employee development plan meetings and maintain accurate employee data in HR systems.
• Handle recognition programmes, events, long‑service awards and employee communications such as intranet updates and info sessions.
• Analyse HR data to identify trends, recommend process improvements and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Represent HR Business Partners during absences and provide advice on complex employee‑lifecycle issues.

Required profile

• Degree in HR, Psychology, Law, Business Administration or related field (advantageous).
• Experience across core HR functions including talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, and employee relations.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in an international environment.
• Self‑motivated, resilient and able to handle non‑routine HR challenges.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
