Global Director of Strategic Communications

About the role

Our Common Home is seeking a Global Director of Strategic Communications to build and lead a worldwide public‑influence capability. The role will create the standards, systems and shared infrastructure that enable local partners in 19 countries to amplify credible environmental messages to conservative and traditional audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch the central “Air Game” public‑influence platform from scratch.
• Develop standards, processes and tools for national teams to strengthen media outreach and public engagement.
• Work hands‑on with priority countries in the early phase, then transition to coaching and capacity‑building.
• Collaborate with the global team on strategy, research, governance and fundraising to support country teams.
• Ensure stories, data and evidence travel across media channels and emerging AI‑driven platforms.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in strategic communications, public affairs or media relations, preferably in the environmental or climate sector.
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale communications infrastructure across diverse cultural and political contexts.
• Strong understanding of the evolving media landscape, including digital, social and AI‑enabled information flows.
• Experience working with decentralized networks of independent organisations.
