FullStack Java Developer

About the role

As a FullStack Java Developer you will join Babelway's engineering team, contributing to a scalable, distributed cloud platform. You will work alongside senior engineers, participate in code reviews and architecture discussions, and grow ownership of features in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Babelway Engineering Team Leader and take part in the full development life‑cycle.
• Implement new features, improve first‑time user experience, and provide support for internal teams and customers.
• Develop messaging components, modern user interfaces, and integrations with third‑party systems.
• Learn and apply best practices for architecting, building, and deploying highly scalable cloud services.
• Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development and enhance code quality.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of Java and enthusiasm for building clean, effective solutions.
• Team player with an open, curious personality, comfortable asking questions and presenting ideas.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, PostgreSQL, Linux, and fluency in English (French a plus, Dutch an asset).
• Hands‑on attitude toward AI coding tools and willingness to tackle challenging, unknown problems.
• 1–5 years of experience as a developer.
