Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to replace a retiring colleague. The role is pivotal in safeguarding the company’s finance "license to operate" and ensuring full compliance with Belgian and Luxembourg statutory, tax and reporting requirements. You will act as a key business partner, delivering accurate financial reporting, driving process improvements and coordinating with both local and global finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Belgian & Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS and all fiscal/VAT regulations.
• Maintain the integrity of books and records for both countries and serve as primary contact for statutory and tax audits.
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closings, including reconciliation between local GAAP and IFRS.
• Supervise fixed assets, provisions, accruals and tax‑related entries.
• Coordinate tax return and VAT filing preparation, working with external advisors.
• Collaborate with Shared Service Center (Delhi) and Global Finance Services (Warsaw) on transactional and reporting activities.
• Drive standardisation, automation and continuous improvement of finance processes.
• Act as the local finance point of contact and coordinate extended teams (SSC, auditors, tax advisors).

Required profile

• Strong expertise in Belgian & Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS and local tax/VAT legislation.
• Proven experience working with external auditors, advisory firms and international Shared Service Centers.
• Solid knowledge of statutory reporting, compliance requirements and internal controls.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience leading finance process improvement or automation projects.
