Finance Operations Analyst

About the role

Paynovate, a fast‑growing Belgian fintech, is looking for a Finance Operations Analyst to ensure the accuracy, integrity and regulatory compliance of its payment‑related financial flows. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will work at the crossroads of finance and operations, supporting both day‑to‑day accounting tasks and the monitoring of operational payment data.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review daily accounting entries linked to payment flows and regulated activities.
• Execute daily and monthly reconciliations between operational and financial data, investigating any breaks or discrepancies.
• Support the production of regulatory and financial reports and assist external audits.
• Monitor safeguarding accounts and client funds to ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Safeguarding and Product teams to identify root causes of payment errors and implement corrective actions.
• Contribute to the design, automation and optimisation of reconciliation and control processes.
• Support cross‑functional projects involving Finance, Operations and Product.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in accounting, reconciliation, financial administration or finance operations.
• Experience in a fintech, electronic‑money institution, bank or other regulated financial environment is a strong asset.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulatory reporting requirements.
