DevOps Engineer (Freelance or Permanent)

About the role

Nexeo Belgium is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a multinational market leader in the banking, finance and insurance sectors. The position can be either freelance or permanent and offers the chance to work in an international consultancy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the operational quality of assigned IT systems.
• Handle incident and problem management processes.
• Implement technical lifecycle and security requirements.
• Manage IT service continuity, including emergency and disaster‑recovery exercises.
• Keep technical documentation up to date.
• Support design and implementation of cloud‑based architecture.
• Promote continuous improvement of agile ways of working within the IT team.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in continuous improvement/automation (e.g., Jenkins or similar CI tools).
• At least 3 years of networking knowledge (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancers).
• Familiarity with on‑premise monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of Oracle database administration and WebLogic.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure or AWS; cloud migration experience is a plus.
• Practical experience with Git and GitHub.
• Understanding of DevOps practices.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
