Data Architect Intern (AI Acceleration Programme)

About the role

Avertim’s AInspire programme is looking for a Data Architect Intern to support the design and implementation of data foundations for AI use cases. Over a 3‑6 month period you will work alongside AI experts and business teams to create scalable, reliable and governance‑compliant data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in defining data architecture and data modelling standards.
• Conduct data audits across business processes to identify quality, availability and gap issues.
• Support the design of data pipelines, data flows and integration points.
• Help establish data governance frameworks covering ownership, access and quality.
• Develop reusable templates, standards and best‑practice documentation.
• Collaborate with process owners to translate business needs into technical data requirements.
• Prepare clear reports and recommendations for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s program in Data, IT, Business Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in data, AI and digital transformation.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to structure complex information.
• Proactive, eager to learn and comfortable working in an agile environment.

Required skills

• Fundamentals of data modelling.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with ETL processes, data pipelines and APIs.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure Purview, AWS, GCP) – a plus.
• Understanding of data governance principles; knowledge of GDPR or AI Act is advantageous.
