Consultations Facilitator / Digital Content Expert - Freelance

About the role

ICF is looking for a freelance Consultations Facilitator / Digital Content Expert in Brussels to support the European Commission in facilitating spaces for dialogue (in-person and virtual) and consultations at global and regional level with civil society networks, foundations and associations of local authorities and EU institutions and Member States, mainly through the Policy Forum on Development (PFD) and ad hoc consultations. The consultant also helps explore new avenues of cooperation with these partners and guides them.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and moderate consultations and dialogue spaces with civil society, foundations and local authority associations
• Contribute to drafting concept notes, regular updates on policy issues raised by civil society, and background papers and other material for the dialogue
• Support the European Commission in exploring new cooperation avenues and guiding partners in this regard

Required profile

• University degree (Master or equivalent) in political science, international relations, development cooperation, economics, communication or a directly relevant discipline; a Bachelor plus 3 years of work experience can replace the Master requirement
• At least 5 years of experience facilitating and moderating multi-stakeholder consultations
• At least 3 years of experience drafting reports, policy papers, background documents, agendas and concept notes
• At least 7 years of professional experience in multistakeholder engagement with international organisations and/or state actors
• At least 3 years preparing, facilitating and reporting back from international multi-stakeholder consultations
• At least 1 year in database management and 1 year updating and moderating digital communication platforms

Required skills

• C1 English and C1 French
• B2 French or Spanish is an asset
• Experience in communication is an asset
