Strategic Communications Manager - Earth Observation

About the role

Novaspace is looking for a Strategic Communications Manager within its Earth Observation practice, based in Brussels. The role sits in the Strategic Communications team and covers institutional contracts focused on disseminating project results, stakeholder management, communication strategies, user outreach and training, storytelling, and programme and project management for Earth Observation topics. The position suits someone with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in project and contract management for institutional contracts, with an aptitude for Earth observation and science communication.

Key responsibilities

• Manage institutional framework contracts end to end, including budget tracking, support to invoicing, proposal writing and contract administration
• Drive business development by preparing client meetings, following up activities, identifying new opportunities and attending conferences
• Lead end-to-end project delivery for strategic communication consulting mandates
• Support team management, including recruitment and resource planning

Required profile

• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in project and contract management for institutional contracts
• Preferably a technical background in environmental sciences, geoanalytics, Earth Observation or similar, with strong interest in science communication and user adoption of Earth Observation
• Strong academic background
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Citizen of an EU Member State
• Flexibility for occasional international travel, mostly day trips

Required skills

• Demonstrable experience in project and contract management
• Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite
• Plus: understanding of the EU Space programme and Copernicus, engineering or scientific background in space technology, public sector consulting experience, and working knowledge of another European language
